CERTIFICATION
The Northwest Indian Alcohol & Drug Certification
Board/Oregon Branch was developed and comprised of members
from the Nine Oregon Tribes. The tribal communities
appointed representatives to serve on the certification
board, to provide input from their own unique perspective
and that of their tribal community. Out initial goals
were to foster support and wellness, to develop curriculum
for the members of this body, and to provide a testing
venue that would support native peoples.
Members of our board attend regular quarterly meetings
that are held in various communities throughout the
state. In those meetings we discuss training and development
issues, testing dates and sites, oversight of the member
files and credentialing hours and recertification hours.
We meet with other credentialing boding to ensure we
provide up-to-date information and that the certifications
our members hold will stand up to the scrutiny of the
state.
As a certification board we are committed to assisting
our certified counselor in everyway possible. We are
dedicated to educating our members with the very best
training that provides evidence based practices with
practical approaches that support and enhance our Native
and cultural ways and the membership we serve.
